Plixi - Fat Calculator ("Plixi", "the App", "we", "our", or "us") is a body composition calculator and patient tracking application for iOS and Android, developed and operated by Ivan Villamil. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
By creating an account or using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Introduction
Plixi can be used without an account. In that mode, the data you enter is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. If you subscribe to Plixi Premium and create an account, you may enable cloud synchronization so your data is backed up and accessible across your signed-in devices.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (used to identify you and send one-time verification codes)
- Full name (if provided)
- Authentication method (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or email OTP verification)
2.2 Professional and patient data
The App is designed for nutrition and fitness professionals to manage patient information. Data you enter — including patient records, body measurements, diet plans, appointments, photos, custom fields, and related notes — is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in with a Premium account and cloud sync is active, this data is also transmitted to and stored on our remote servers.
2.3 Profile information
You may optionally upload a profile avatar image. Avatar images are stored on cloud servers operated by Google Firebase Storage and are associated with your account.
2.4 Device and usage information
We collect limited technical and usage data, including:
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- App usage analytics (screens viewed, features used)
- Crash reports and performance data
- Advertising identifiers (for users of the free version with ads)
2.5 Transaction data
If you subscribe to Plixi Premium, purchase and subscription status are managed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and RevenueCat. We receive subscription status identifiers but do not store your payment card or billing details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account
- Synchronize your data across devices when you are signed in with a Premium account
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App's functionality
- Send transactional emails (for example, one-time verification codes for sign-in)
- Display personalized ads (free tier users)
- Monitor app stability and fix errors
- Generate aggregated, anonymized usage statistics
4. Cloud Synchronization
Cloud synchronization is available to Premium subscribers who create an account and sign in. When active, your professional and patient data is transmitted to and stored on our remote database hosted on Neon, a PostgreSQL cloud provider with servers in the United States.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). Access to remote data is restricted to authenticated requests using your account credentials. Each user's synced data is isolated and associated with their account identifier.
You may use Plixi without signing in; in that case, all data remains exclusively on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Firebase Authentication — account management
- Firebase Storage — avatar image hosting
- Firebase Analytics — usage analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting
- Neon — cloud database for synced data
- Sentry — error tracking and feedback
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — advertising in the free version
- Resend — transactional email delivery (OTP verification)
- Apple Sign-In — authentication (iOS)
- Google Sign-In — authentication
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and only receive the information needed to provide their services.
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active.
- Patient and professional data synced to the cloud is retained until you delete it or delete your account from the App.
- Local data on your device persists independently of your account status and remains under your control.
- Analytics data is retained according to Firebase's default retention policies. Crash and error data is retained according to Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry retention settings.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS)
- Token-based authentication (Firebase ID tokens)
- Server-side token verification for all API requests
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access and correct your personal data through the App's profile settings
- Export your data from the App's settings
- Delete individual records (patients, measurements, and related data) within the App
- Sign out of your account at any time
- Delete your account and all associated remote data from the App (Profile → Delete Account)
- Opt out of analytics through your device-level privacy settings
When you delete your account from the App, we immediately and permanently remove your account credentials and all data stored on our remote servers. Local data on your devices is not deleted and will no longer be linked to your account unless you remove it manually or uninstall the App.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us at tiroldesign@gmail.com to exercise them.
9. How to Delete Your Data
9.1 Delete data inside the app
You can delete individual patients, measurements, or other records directly within the App. Deletions made while signed in and synced will also be reflected on our servers during the next synchronization cycle.
9.2 Delete your account and remote data
You can delete your account and all data stored on our remote servers at any time from the App by going to Profile → Delete Account and confirming the action. Account deletion is permanent and immediate. Local data on your device is not deleted and will no longer be linked to your account.
9.3 Uninstall the app
Uninstalling Plixi permanently removes all locally stored app data from your device, including patient profiles, measurements, photos, and settings. This does not automatically delete data previously synced to our servers; delete your account from the App if you also want remote data removed.
- Android: Settings → Apps → Plixi → Uninstall
- iOS: Touch and hold the Plixi icon → Remove App → Delete App
10. Data Sharing and Transfers
Plixi does not sell your personal health data. We do not share patient or measurement content with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Limited data may be processed by service providers listed in Section 5 solely to operate the App. We may disclose information when required by a competent authority, duly founded and motivated under applicable law.
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States (Neon database, Firebase services, and other providers listed above). By using the App with cloud sync enabled, you consent to this transfer.
11. Children's Privacy
Plixi is intended for health and fitness professionals and adults managing body composition data. The App is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Plixi after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
